Huh... That glitch seems to be solved now I guess...

So yeah. Quick Meme, just to show I'm still living!

Now to explain myself before people start flaming me as to why "their favvy game izzn't on here"

#1 - Final Fantasy 6

I hold this game at the top spot in my eyes because it's storytelling is absolutely peerless. Not only is the world well fleshed out with an intricate background, but the characters themselves are probably the epitome of Final Fantasy Characters. All of them have deep backstories and interesting relationships with one another, and, probably the most crucial part, they develop. I've seen painfully few games where characters grow and develop over the course of a plotline, and this is one of the few that really hits the nail on the head. THe plot is great, and the combat doesn't ever seem to get in the way, and there's a good amount of puzzle solving. If you haven't played this game, do so.

Also, I simply played this game on the GBA. Any version is excellent though

#2 - Batman Arkham Asylum

You knew I had to put this high on the list. Everybody knows by now that I love the Bat. I love him from his pointy cowl to his black, stompy boots. This game almost perfectly blends combat with the rest of gameplay and it's story feels absolutley great, almost like a comic book in itself. I love its references to comic book history but they don't bog it down with it, so it doesn't get in the way. But if you listen carefully you'll hear words like "Metropolis" and "Batman's Partner" dropped every now and then, as well as numerous villain artifacts littered throughout the island. This is a really, really great game.

#3 - Metal Gear Solid 3

Of all the Metal Gear Solids, I'd say this one is the best. 2 had Whiny, Pansy Raiden and his cranky Missus, and 4 was far too action based and way less stealth based. This game, onthe other hand, was not only highly stealth based, but I loved the setting. The jungle, or just outside, was probably where I had wanted to go the whole time in the previous games and this was a really a nice change up. Furthermore, setting it in the cold war against dirty commies fills me with American pride. The story is pretty good, but like most MGS games it gets a little insane here andd there. Still, play it. You won't be disappointed.
(Also, make sure to get the Subsistence version. It comes with the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2)

#4 - Final Fantasy 7

This game was one of the first RPGs I played, and it still holds up. The story gets confusing at times and a couple of the characters are annoying (coughcoughCAITSITHcough), but it all comes together quite nicely. Despite what a lot of people on certain sites may say, the combat isn't hard to figure out, and menu scrolling is actually pretty easy, the story does fit together pretty well (although the "twist" with Cloud is REALLY confusing and convoluted), plus this is one of the only games that actually got me to cry at one point. The graphics are very sub-par, but all in all, great game. If you haven't played it, do so.

#5 - Rayman 2: Revolution

This game is an underappreciated gem. Its story is imaginative and fantastical and the caracters are fun and colorful. The combat is fun with Rayman's little mini-hadokens and the world is striking and memorable. The main issue with the game is that it can get really confusing just how to get from one area to the next, but other than that the story is far more coherent than the previous N64 release of Rayman 2, which felt disjointed and schizophrenic. The graphics are great, and there are ROBOT PIRATES! Not just Robots. Not just Pirates. ROBOT PIRATES! FROM SPACE! Tell me it gets any more awesome than that!

#6 - Zelda Twilight Princess

Zelda has always been a franchise that I've had a penchant for, and I feel that Twilight Princess was the top of its game. Yes you heard me. It's Better than Ocarina of Time. The combat was smooth and the twilight world was inventive. It got a little bogged down in sidequests and could be confusing, though. However, Ocarina of time was a lot more stilted, while Twilight Princess seemed to have a much more believable fantasy world with a far more sensible story. It's characters weren't quite as memorable as in OoT, but still, we got Midna. Midna, who, in her true form, makes me *censoredcensored* every time I see her *censoredcensoredcensored* in my *censored*

Gentlemen, start your flame spewing... Now!

#7 - Super Metroid

Definately the best retro game I've played, Super Metroid didn't have much of a story or characters (aside from Samus, of course), but it did have potentially the best sidescroller platforming/shooting of pretty much all games of that type. Not really all that much to say really. I would've liked a story or characters to work with, but I understand it given the time it was made. Still, without them, I can only place it as #7 against other things like Final Fantasys 6 and 7 and Batman and the like. But nonetheless, you should track this game down and play it. No Metroid ffan should be without this.

#8 - Crash Bandicoot 3

I playedd this game when I was 7. I still love it today. This game is awesome You do deep sea swimming, fight in ancient Rome, go to Arthurian times, run from dinosaurs, race across the great wall of China... It's just awesome! THe story is really simlistic, though, and the characters rarely speak. However this game is just so much fun to play. It's a shame what happened to Crash after this game though... >_<

#9 - Metal Gear Solid - The Twin Snakes

This game is good. Quite good really. It's not as good as 3, though. There are issues I have with it. THe environments are pretty much all the same for one thing, with gray walls being freaking everywhere. Would it bother him so much to step outside? I mean, know there's a blizzard and all, but... well anyway. THe combat is pretty good, and the boss fights are definately quite memorable. Still, it's just, in an overall sense, more lackluster than other things on this list like MGS3 or Arkham Asylum. They did what this did and they did it better. Still, this game is more than competent and you should give it a go.

#10 - Luigi's Mansion

You're all probably giving a big "WHAAAT" right now, but let me explain myself. While it's true tht this game isn't very deep, not is it very diverse with characters, nor does it have anything cutting edge or stealthy or actiony or anything that really "wows" you, it's fun. It's just Fun. And remember, these are my favorite games, not the "best" games. If they were the "best games" then this list would look VERY different. besides, it was either this or Pikmin 2, which I feel the same way about.
Anyway, Luigi's mansion I must have beaten over 50 times, is easy, clean, ghostbusting fun. and while ther's nothing really going for it, there's nothing really against it either. Gameplay is clean and easy, the story is nice and simple, and heck, you even get a few scares during the blackout portion. It's just plain fun. And really, isn't that what games are all about?
